P.U.M.A 37th Presentation Evening 28-10-2017

Held at MECA Entertainment, Regent Circus, Swindon on Saturday 28th October 2017 New Century celebrated having two new first Degree Blackbelts. Billy West and Amy Picken both from our Biddulph School graded in September but have waited until the Presentation Evening to receive their belts and certificates. It is a great night where family and friends are invited to join in the celebrations. Also attending were their Instructors Sam Finch and Jenna Baxter. New Century Senior Instructor Dennis Salt took part in the awards ceremony and was naturally proud to see Billy and Amy receive their belts.

Puma Fight Night 04-11-2017 - Thornbury Leisure Centre

A great night!! We had Jenna fighting, along with Mikael from Fenton - both of them put up great performances and should be very proud of themselves. They formed part of the Puma taekwon-do team that had many champions amongst them - they took on Puma kickboxing and Warrior taekwon-do from London (who themselves had many champions and also a great competitor all the way from New Zealand) they were coached by the ITF England coach, Mr Johann De Silva.
The support from our area was simply the best!! “Baxter's Barmy Army” was out in force (the videos don't actually give you the full atmosphere) but I'm sure you can imagine what it was like with Mark Payne and Stacey Weatherer leading from the front ??

The end results were:
Puma Taekwon-Do 5 - 1 Puma Kickboxing
Puma Taekwon-Do 3 - 3 Warrior Taekwon-Do

The skill, determination and ferociousness was clear to see and each fight was a great spectacle.
“Those that have the courage to fight on the mats, are the envy of many”
There was also a few demonstrations which included bo staff, nunchucks and patterns.
All in all it was a brilliant night, with great action but also great sportsmanship from each competitor!!
A big thank you to everyone who attended and supported!!!!!

Taekwon-Do Flip Out Christmas Party, Stone. 10-11-2017

A big thank you to everyone who attended and supported our Christmas Party at Flip Out!
It was a great couple of hours that seemed to fly by just from bouncing up and down, attempting flying side kicks and having a go at front flips into foam pits. 96 students attended, meaning lots of organising and preparation had to take place - so a big thank you to Jenna for making sure it all ran so smoothly! I'm sure after the success of this year, there will be another one in 2018 - we don't know where yet, but somewhere packed with fun, laughter and a chance to make the instructors do more silly things!!

Sunday 3rd December 2017 - Ashbourne Leisure Centre

Three hours of fun and ₤310.00 raised for the me&dee charity. Every year we hold a Christmas Competition to raise money for charity.
This year we chose “me&dee” a small charity based in Derby, see what they do.
The day is all about fun where six teams score points in the speed test, supermarket sweep, duster sparring, high kick, crash mat surfing and sparton sword fighting.
All teams received medals and Santa brings along some goodie bags, a great family day out.
A big thank you to the officials who gave their time to make all this possible.
